How we started

It all started when...

In the summer of 2017, there was a conversation at our family dinner table in response to a news article that my father had read. The article was about how the Honeybees of New York were becoming infested with mites and that Honeybees in general were becoming more endangered.  

Modern society with its genetically modified vegetation, insecticides, and varroa mites are all threatening aspects to the health of the Honeybee and even more so, our own lives on Earth! The article went on to say that backyard beekeepers who consciously respect the needs of the Honeybee, can effect positive change in this balance, as can farmers and the general public! 

"Let's become beekeepers", I requested immediately! "Alright", my father replied. That night I purchased our beekeeping kit online and we arranged to meet with a family friend who was a well known beekeeper in our community.

Needless to say, the rest is history. The bees were happy, and so were we! However, after gifting so much of our delicious honey to family, friends, and the local farmer's markets, I knew we could do more.

"Let's make honey wine", I requested. "Alright", my father replied. 

Our mead starts at the hives in our backyard, is packaged in our home, and then delivered directly to your hand. We hope that it brings just as much joy to your family as it has to ours!
